David is a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager with Whittier Trust. As a Senior Portfolio Manager, David is responsible for helping establish the investment philosophy and strategy of the firm, and for the selection of individual securities and appropriate asset allocation ranges for client portfolios. David advises clients on issues such as asset allocation, risk assessment, capital market return expectations, and the importance of after-tax performance within their portfolio.
Before joining Whittier Trust, David served as Vice President for Farmland Partners Inc., a publicly-traded REIT. Before that, he was a Portfolio Manager with Lazard Asset Management, where he co-managed mutual funds and separately managed accounts. David co-founded Alesco Global Advisors LLC, an investment management firm that Lazard Asset Management acquired. Before that, he was an equity research analyst with Robertson Stephens and the RBC Capital Markets. David began his career as an investment banking analyst with Salem Partners LLC.
David received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Stanford University and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. David holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) and Certified Trust and Fiduciary (CTFA®) designations.
Beyond the office, David expresses his passion for children as a member of the board of Make-A-Wish Orange County & the Inland Empire. Outside of work and non-profit volunteering, he treasures time with his wife and three boys, coaching several youth sports, and enjoying various outdoor activities.
