Matt manages Whittier Trust’s West Los Angeles office and provides client advisory services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families. Matt’s expertise includes strategic estate and tax planning, charitable giving, investment management, valuation analysis, real estate, and family office solutions.

Matt employs almost 30 years of experience in financial planning, tax planning, private business valuation, public security analysis, and portfolio management to help clients solve complex issues.  Prior to joining the Whittier Trust Company, Matt was an Executive Vice President and Managing Director for Stonebridge Capital Management, Inc. for over 19 years. Matt’s experience prior to joining Stonebridge was as a VP and Shareholder at Van Deventer & Hoch Investment Counsel, and a Research Associate at Economic Analysis Corporation.

Matt has a B.A. in Mathematical Economics from Pomona College, where he was a Pomona Scholar and the recipient of the Lorne D. Cook Award in Economics. Matt is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts.  Matt is on the Board of The Collins & Katz YMCA and is a long-time member of the Jonathan Club.  Matt is a foodie who enjoys traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with his family and their dogs.
